I know! I watch the english dub because it takes me back to being a child as well. I remembering watching it and being inspired by them. It instilled some sort of hope in me. I get really frustrated when people say “fuck the english version”. Some of the dialogue is really tacky, but that’s the fun part. It takes you back into a childlike tone of thinking.
In the comment’s section of any Sailor Moon video there’s always this lengthy debate over the Original Vs.The english dub. I understand not liking the english dub as much as you get older. They made male characters female and turned a lesbian couple into incestuous cousins. Also the original Japanese version has more depth. I don’t like when people hate on the English Dub though. It’s what we grew up with as children. We watched Sailor moon and the other scouts transform and fight evil together. For many of us it was also our first exposure to Anime. The dub is the way it is because it was intended for children. Anime hadn’t attained the popularity in North America that it has now. It needed to sell itself. People gripe about the music changes and the fact the names of the attacks were changed. If you think about it though, to english speakers how much sense does “Moon princess halation”, “Shabon spray”,”Sparkling wide pressure” or “Venus Love-me chain” actually make. I understand the anger at the removal of Japanese culture. That’s something I wish could be revised. It just angers me that people are going to get angry at something they loved so much as a child. Anime purists bother me a lot.
Who’s your favourite Sailor Senshi?

This is my favourite notion of the entire series. It makes me really happy.
